We have a long-standing commitment to fair and modern business practices and ethics. Having worked in many developing countries for decades, we have established a set of strict guidelines that shall minimize the risk of any negative business practices (money laundering, child labour, corruption, etc.) which could potentially occur in such contexts. We are always keen to introduce the best contemporary work standards and ethos to all countries in which we operate, with the objective of not only conducting business in a fair and proper manner, but also of contributing our experience and resources to improving the overall business environment. We are mostly restricted to trading activities in the value chain and therefore, we have limited direct impact on the overall carbon footprint of the petroleum products handled by the company. Nevertheless, we are aware of our social responsibility to combat global warming. As a result, we rigorously adhere to all carbon emission guidelines and request all partners and clients to be just as strict in adhering to the same. This is especially important in non-EU and developing countries, in which regulations sometimes do not exist. Furthermore, we are actively seeking to extend our involvement in the market for alternative energies. We believe that the responsible approach we have developed over time allows us to meet both legal requirements and our own commitments, thereby ensuring our societal contribution is effective and focused in areas where it will have the maximum impact.
